The Very Impressive Ford Taurus SHO
The Ford Taurus SHO is a huge car. SHO aficionados are often caught commenting on its size. Not much smaller than a light SUV, the SHO maintains the look and feel of a sport sedan in spite of its great size. A little different from a standard Taurus thanks to the interior and muscular exterior.
Exterior Design and Cabin Features
The SHO feature HID headlamps surrounded by lamp bezels finished in nickel, which distinguish it from the standard Taurus. The rear decklid spoiler sits above duel exhaust pipes and 19-inch aluminum wheels. The sleek curves of the vehicle offer aesthetics and aerodynamics. On the outside, the SHO is a sleek, stylish 4-door sedan, but not much different in appearance than the standard model.
Sitting inside the SHO, you will instantly notice the luxury design elements throughout the car. The canted center stack and aluminum trim and pedals give it a stylish look. A cool feature is the adjustable 7-color ambient lighting for the interior. It is equipped with Ford’s newest SYNC hands-free communication and entertainment system. A navigation system can be added for $1995. car prices
Handling and Performance
The SHO has an all-electric power assist in the steering mechanism, and drivers will instantly notice the difference as the car adjusts well to steering movements. The car has a European feel with its large anti-roll bars and stiffer springs, which makes cornering flat while still safe. It can come out of a turn comfortably and under control with the full-time all-wheel drive, which is a standard option in the SHO.
The car’s twin-turbo Ecoboost V-6 performs like a V-8. The engine does not make obvious all it power until you really push it hard. At 5500 rpm it gives 365 bhp when asked. Top torque is 350 lb.-ft. This creates a powerful acceleration from 0 to 60 in just 5.2 seconds. used cars for sale. However, it has a top speed of just 133 mph, which is 10 mph lower than the first SHO allowed. The car does not have a manual transmission option, something sports sedan enthusiasts may want, but the steering wheel-mounted paddle shifters give drivers the feel of a manual transmission.
In spite of the engine’s power, it is pretty quiet. It also creates little vibration, even when running at top speeds. Ford is touting the engine as a fuel-efficient option for those interested in a sports sedan, but the proof is not quite there. Because of the engine’s power and the car’s weight, EPA mileage is just 17 mpg in the city, 25 mpg on the highway. Not the best of fuel economies yet still okay.
The brakes leave something to be desired in this car. The brakes are the same ones placed on the standard Taurus, and when fitted with high-performance tires the car takes 174 feet to stop when traveling at 70 mph. Larger brakes where critical due to the near 2 top car weight. used car online

Lotus Evora. Elise made More Fun
The newest sports car to be hit the market in 2010 is called the Lotus Evora and is a slightly larger car than the Lotus Elise. It will be the first completely new Lotus vehicle in almost 15 years which is definitely something to take notice of. When the Evora goes past, you would want to stare then develop some interest. Revealed at the 2008 London Motor Show, this classy deep-silver two-door, mid engine coupe was shown as a classic Lotus design. The Evora extracts the most from the least, commanding high performance and agile dynamics with its advanced structures and controlled weight.
The Evora Difference
The Evora is larger and much more luxurious and sexy than the other models in the Lotus line up. It is roomier than other sports cars and more accommodating as well. Being noticabily larger the Evora also weighs a lot more. flat to rent in cape town. Although it was launched with a 6-speed manual transmission, Evora will also add an automatic transmission during the early part of the build run as an option. With the mid-engine layout and 2×2 seating the Evora has a very similar setting with Lamborghini, Ferrari and Maserati.
The 3.5-liter V6 engine is from Toyota although Lotus holds the copyright on it because of the ECU software upgrades that they developed for the engine. Alpine provides the 7 inch touch screen for controlling audio, communications and satellite navigation functions. This is an assembled vehicle with Bosch providing the ABS, traction control and stability control and Yokohama the tires. One of the rules of smart cost effective design is to utilize already existing well proven third party components?
The Seating
Most would initially identify a car that looks as sleek and sexy as the Evora to a two seater but with the extra two rear seats, it becomes a sports car that you can enjoy with more than one friend at a time. It is however, a small back seat which could be a little cramped on longer journeys. Since most sports car owners don`t . Driver and passenger will feel immediately comfortable on the front seats. The impressive dashboard full of gauges and controls makes the cockpit to feel like a respected air line cockipt. car prices

Mazda 3. A bold design direction
Motor makers at times commit the error of changing a succesful model to the point of being worst off that its prede. All cars in this class are stepping up their game offering better value for money. Mazda would not want to be caught sleeping?
The Mazda3 is, by far, the most popular car that Mazda produces – the 3 accounts for between one third and one half of all of Mazda’s sales. The new comer continues Mazda's path of making progress and what progress the car maker is making.
That’s not to say that Mazda didn’t make any changes at all with the new 3 – they did change the “face” a bit by reshaping both the grill and the headlights into what is reminiscent of a smiling visage – this change in lines does affect the overall look a bit, but not enough to make most people shy away from buying it.
What’s on the Inside Counts
Under the hood is a little more power than the previous version, coming in at just under one hundred and fifty horses and capable of going from zero to sixty in right around twelve seconds. Its a given. Mazda would always claim this as the best 3 to date. They are not entirely off the truth.
The big smiling grill might be the most obvious change, but Mazda did add a few elements of surprise to the interior of the new 3 as well. The dashboard’s new appearance can be summed up in one word – clean, it’s free of any unnecessary clutter that you might find with other cars in the class. Think of it as a shrunken down version of the dashboard in the Mazda6.
Mazda has also added a steering wheel mounted satellite navigation system with push button controls. It does take some time to work the navigation system. But once familiar its sweet sailing.
The question on many driver’s minds remains – has Mazda done enough to stay competitive with the other heavy hitters in the class that made major changes for this year (like Volkswagen’s Golf), and the simple answer is yes. The average user rating remains in the neighborhood of 31/2 to 4 stars out of four – the 3 is at or near the head of its class when it comes to miles per gallon (25 city/33 highway), performance, handling and safety. It’s the same car that everyone who’s driven has been in love with since around the turn of the century, it’s smooth, sleek and fun to drive – Mazda only made changes where they thought changes were necessary and that just so happened to be not very many places at all.
Mazda has managed to put out another winner by making just a few minor changes to their already stellar representative, and they made those changes while keeping the price lower than that of their major competition in the class, the VW Golf.
V10 Audi R8. The one to have
This R8 will surely cause controversy with the sister Lambo Gallardo as it moves Audi straight into the must have sports cars league.
The Audi team has really stepped up the latest version of their R8 to be viable competition with the other big boys on the circuit. The 2010 model is super powerful – five hundred and twenty-five horsepower powerful, but is still quiet and controllable enough to actually be used on a regular basis unlike some of the Italian super-cars.
This ultra powerful version of the R8 is capable of flying from zero to sixty mph in less than four seconds, but what makes it an even better alternative to the Porches, Lamborghinis and Ferraris of the world is that the power it brings is so nicely complemented by the incredible handling that you experience behind the wheel.
How Much?
The price tag on the 2010 Audi R8 has jumped almost as much as the quality of the car and at nearly one hundred and fifty thousand dollars the price is another close point of comparison between the new R8 and the Porsche 911.R8 V10 has now the power punch to challenge the legendary 911, F430 and Gallardo. Of course at one hundred and fifty thousand it is far from practical for even the wealthy, but this car is by far the most practical of any of the super-cars. R8's main attraction is the V10 engine which means those who liked the V8, will finally have their wish of the R8 unleashed.
The Look
As should be expected from a car with such a lofty price tag, the 2010 Audi R8 is beautiful both inside and out.The first R8 was good enough to earn car of the year status in some countries, an achievement not so many sports cars can boost about. The 2010 Audi R8 is all sleek lines and smooth contours on the outside and beautifully spacious leather interior with seats that it’s hard not to feel comfortable in.
The 2010 Audi R8 is most likely the only one of the super-cars that has enough space to stow enough luggage for a week long holiday with nearly seven cubic feet of storage available, and the space that is occupied is loaded with features you’d be hard pressed to find in a car with a smaller price tag.
There are any number of options in order to accessorize or customize the new R8, but in reality you don’t really need any of them – the stock model comes complete with heated seats, a GPS navigation system, an incredible sound system, automatic air and a built in alarm.
The 2010 R8 is off the charts when it comes to power, handling and performance but it also gets incredibly high marks in both safety and design further cementing its place at the top of the list for anyone who wants to own a super-car but has needs for an automobile that can be driven every day.

La Ford. Do you like it with a bit of La-Fiesta?
A new design philosophy for Ford called the kinetic design has made its presence in the current generation Fiesta. The design certainly has a very youthful and distinctive appearance to it which gives Ford credit compared to its competitors. Of late most newly launched models seem to be a blend and mix of already existing cars, usually borrowing design elements of premium car makers.
The Ford Fiesta, it cannot be mistaken as Japanese or any other blend but stands out as a product of the Ford Kinetic Design. In short the term means energy in motion. A car that looks to be on the move and energetic due to its angular lines and aggressive shape.
On the interior Ford continues not to be shy in trying unique ideas the first of which they call the Cellular Logic central console arrangement. As the name implies the most important controls are arranged in a pattern that resembles a cell phone for ease of access especially during driving. The cabin also features a central display unit mounted on top of the central console.
Ford’s marketing speak can be trusted as the car is quite packed with cool features that 5 years ago where only reserved for more premium brands. The list is endless with features such as keyless entry, lights that can turn off after a few minutes, 6 speaker CD audio system, power steering and off course safety features.
Technically the car performs its primary purpose very well as it was intended for city driving. Fiesta does this with a breeze because it was well engineered. The new Fiesta weighs in at 40kg lighter as well as being 10% more rigid. Engine sizes are 1.4 producing 71kw (95hp) as well as a 1.6litre which outputs 88kw (118hp). Completing the engine line up is a 60kw (80hp) common rail diesel.
A very important note about the new Fiesta is that it was runner up to the Opel Insignia for the Euro Car of the year by just a single point while as consolation it was voted car of the year in Scotland. It is a very drivable car with many features at a very affordable price however the design philosophy might push other buyers off.
The styling is difficult to ignore as it falls toward the extreme. Either you like or do not like. Fiesta styling is too youthful, playfully and maybe too funky for anyone over the age of twenty one. Other Describe the styling as being too feminine. The interior is also likable or not with the standard trim being too bright with plastics. Perhaps a colour coded trim suits the car better.
If the Ford happens to sell well, the styling would definitely be a major contributing. Likewise should sales be dull, styling would be an area to blame. In these harsh economic times Ford does need a car like the Fiesta to lighten things up. As for the owners they can have a little fun, a little dance while driving. They can have a fiesta. Surely Ford has now poked its competitors and they will need to respond with better offerings. VW Polo for Sale for a while now, Nissan Tiida and Honda Civic Hatch Back. Interesting times.
