Used Jaguar Choice

It is a shame that only a small number of people will get the opportunity to drive a Used Jaguar in their all too brief lifetimes. There is something undeniably pleasurable about relaxing in a car of such opulent luxury and heading out on the road with no agenda other than enjoying one of the best driving experiences that money can buy. Even if you have no intention of actually getting your wallet out and investing in one, I strongly recommend you at least take a Jaguar out for a test drive. I guarantee that you will not experience a drive like it in any other car imaginable.

For the record, there is no conceivable way that I could ever even consider buying a brand new Jaguar, as they seem specifically designed to cater for those amongst us who have either been born into privilege or have stumbled upon great fortune either accidentally or purposefully during their lives. Alas, I cannot count myself amongst the financially endowed populace, but I have discovered a way that you can share in their spoils; by buying yourself a Used Jaguar and discovering a luxury drive for an extremely reasonable price.

I came across a Sytner Dealership who specialised in Used Jaguar models of a variety of sizes, shapes and ages. There was an absolutely unbelievable Used Jaguar XJ that most definitely caught my eye and left me in something of a flap. The test drive confirmed what I had definitely suspected and expected ever since my first childlike, feverish eyes honed in on it.

To say the drive was smooth would be like glibly stating that Wayne Rooney is a slightly talented footballer whom has a promising future at Manchester United. I literally thought that the Used Jaguar drove akin to a majestic bird flying through a wisp of cloud. Every single bump and hump in the road was ironed out and impossible to detect. You literally cannot come close to imagining the kind of drive that the Used Jaguar was providing for me.

The real pressing matter was, of course, the price tag. Luckily the depreciation of luxury vehicles is quite steep, so a car that was unobtainable for me when it first rolled out of the factory was now on the verges of being affordable to my relatively modest budget. The truth of the matter was that some of these models were similarly priced to your average common or garden second hand family hatchbacks with identical mileage, which seems ludicrous to me in terms of the build quality and prestige that comes with a car within the realms of Jaguar’s creed.

Put simply, I could never resist the lure of the Used Jaguar and ended up buying one, much to the chagrin of my jealous neighbours. The real plus point was obviously the impossibly low price that I managed to obtain the car for. I never imagined that I would be the owner of a fabulously appointed Used Jaguar. I’m so happy!

Jaguar Released New Car To Save the Business

This month, car manufacturer Jaguar have released their brand new XJ model. The XJ is the newer version of the XF model and just like the XF, the new XJ will need to bring in a lot of sales.

When the XF model was released last year, the sales that it brought in helped the company out of a financial slump it was in. Jaguar are hoping that the new XJ model will do exactly the same at the XF.

It’s been reported that Tata, the company that bought Jaguar and Land Rover from Ford, are losing £1 million a day on the 2 companies.

Because Jaguar are trying to use this new car to save the business, they have modified the design slightly. Although some current Jaguar owners have said that they don’t like the new design, Jaguar are standing by their attempt to make the new car mor modern. They have done this because they are trying to attract a new type of car buyer.

Jaguar have made the design more moden by making it more sleek and stylish. The designer director of Jaguar, Ian Callum said that the new design is “right and correct for the 21st Century” and they are now aiming to bring in a new type of buyer who wouldn’t have considered buying a Jaguar before.

Jaguar have also fitted the car out with modern gadgets like a virtual dashboard. This will allow you to change what displays on your dashboard, you can even put your sat nav on there. The car also comes with a large boot, a panoramic windscreen and finally, it’s all in a light weight aluminium shell.

This makes the car sounds even better, however, it comes at a steep price. The car price ranges from £50,000 for the standard model and going all the way up to £90,000 for the most luxury model.

I don’t think this would really be an ideal car for driving lessons. Maybe if you went with an experienced Worthing driving instructor, it might be more successful.

The Jaguar XF. Worth some attention

Buying this car is like eating a much more afforable resturant as compared to trying to be posch. The end result is that you would still get filled.  The base model comes in at about ten thousand less than the comparable Beamer and almost thirty thousand dollars less than Audi’s outlandishly pricey RS6, making this new Jag more than just a pipe dream for some car shoppers.

Jaguar was in desperate need of putting out a car that would not just be competitive with others in the class, but that was capable of outshining them in terms or power and value.Jaguar was once as highly respectable brand but lately has been in danger of extinction.  With the new XF, Jaguar has made a loud statement that they are no longer going to be pushed around by others in this class.

Under the Hood

This is where the biggest news comes; the brand new supercharged V8 is all about power, and with tons of low end torque this beast is capable of comfortably and quietly rocketing from zero to sixty in less than five seconds.Apparantely the supercharged engine was not making an aggresive enough noise to be liked by the test drivers. The powerful engine is a too silent to the point of misleading the driver to exceed the speed limit.  The powerhouse 5.0 V8 reaches its top speed at 155 mph. The true top speed with no electronic limits is close to 190 mph.

The acceleration is fast and smooth, with no jerking as the six speeds are navigated, making the driving experience a pleasure at any speed.

The performance and control of the new XF are quite a bit better than BMW’s pricier M5, it drives better in almost all day to day situations including reduced speed, heavy traffic and stop start – in fact the only thing that it doesn’t have on its more expensive classmate is a whole lot of unnecessary technological gadgetry.

Jaguar has replanted itself back among the leaders in class with the new XF – its super clean, super elegant and super powerful – all while coming in with a price tag that’s way below the competition.

Is there any reason not to choose the Jaguar XF over the BMW M5 or the Audi RS6?  Well there aren’t many – the price is certainly right on the Jag (but honestly if you’re shopping in this class, price probably isn’t all that big of a concern to you), the only thing that really stands out is all the extra flash. No doubt the BMW and the Audi are ahead of the cat. However the car is still a descent buy not to mention you pay much less.

Jaguar Pushes Speed to its Boundaries

In tests in America Jaguars XFR prototype has hit the quickest speeds ever.

Jaguar have been away in the revolutionary Benneville Salt Flats in Utah, America and have been testing the new XFR prototype. It was declared that this was the fastest Jaguar ever hitting speeds of around 225.675 mph.

Using Jaguar’s new AJ-V8 Gen III engine this XFR smashed the previous record of 217.1 mph set by the XJ220 back in 1992. The XFR featured only small aerodynamic changes and some safety add ons that were essential for running in this desert. No internal engine components were changed and the gear box and ratio's were left the same as the normal engine. The only changes were with the engine’s computer and some air intake modifications.

Mike O’Driscoll, Managing Director, Jaguar Cars said

“The all-new supercharged 510bhp XFR – and XKR – add a thrilling new dimension to the Jaguar line-up. We have sharpened the R models, fine-tuning them to deliver a totally focused experience for driving enthusiasts, with the new AJ-V8 Gen III engines delivering refined power and performance and unmatched efficiency.”

The driver Paul Gentilozzi added,

“During my career, I’ve raced worldwide from the southern tip of New Zealand to Le Mans. Along the way, I have been excelled to drive and own so many lovely vehicles but I've never experienced one that was as exciting to drive fast as this Jaguar.”

The new XFR is the first to get the ‘R’ badge it can go from 0 – 60 mph in just 4.It is usually electronically limited to around 150mph on the road. This extra power is used between speeds 50 – 70 mph which will be achieved in only 1.9 seconds.

Jaguar are having something of a speed revival focusing on the performance of their vehicles. This year marks the 60th anniversary of Jaguar’s record breaking 132.6 mph run in the XK120 all the way in 1949.

Their ethos has been to build ‘Beautiful, fast cars.’ Recently they have been beautiful but now they are definitely fast. I will definatley look to buy a Jaguar now.

Great Cars from 2008

2008 has been a super year, with super vehicles hitting the scene. So let’s take some time to have a look at some of the new cars.

Hyundai i10

The eagerly awaited budget car is a must have, it’s a cute little vehicle with plenty of room for a small family. It is a very economic vehicle.

Fiat 500

Well this car is completely mind blowing, the car was said to be the Car of the Year even prior to its release date, and you can see why people said this. Again the vehicle is very economical, very easy to drive, park and handle and it looks superb.

Peugeot 308

Always a great winner, a possible remake of the 307. Has super performance and the interior is very nice with great pieces or styling and accessories.

Mazda 6

A great family saloon. The new version of this car is completely restyled, has a great new engine and awesome handling. A bit on the expensive side but well worth it.

Let’s now turn our attention to some of the more high performance and luxury vehicles that made a stand in 2008.

Jaguar XF

This car looks very sophisticated. Like all Jags the interior is superb. Its technology is again high end and it’s a very comfortable and exhilarating drive.

Subaru Impreza WRX STi

With 304bhp 2.5-litre lump hits 62mph in 4.9 seconds; this petrol guzzling machine has a lot of power in its hood. It has a four wheel drive and is very affordable on the wallet.

BMW 1-Series Convertible

You can’t go wrong with a BMW; this convertible opens its roof within 20 seconds. It’s also got advanced technology which has the ability to control the air conditioning when the heat roof is down.

There are a lot more vehicles that have also been released throughout 2008. Cars are getting a lot more fuel efficient, economic and cheap. I think that now more than ever is the best time to buy a new car. They last a lot longer than older models and they are created to not burn as much fuel, especially the need breed of hydrogen and electric vehicles. But all in all I feel that 2008 has been a great year and we are in store for a great new set in 2009.
