Should Old People Be Banned From Motorways?
Some older people have been thrown into the mix when it comes to driving as many people want them to be banned. There are plenty of elderly people out there that are more than capable of actually driving which is why they should take a test before their license is just taken away.
Banning people from motorways is almost a bridge to this gap and old people do not need to be banned full stop, just from driving on the most dangerous roads. I will once again say that if this happens there should still be a test because there will be many old people that can still drive very well indeed. Could stopping them from going on main roads actually stop their lives from going normally, how would they be able to drive up to the airport and to see a family member. Is this really fair at all.
Older generations do actually cause a lot of accidents on the road but this doesnt mean it is all their fault, could stopping them from driving help these figures that much. It is also fair to say that a lot of the time they are not going fast enough on the big motorways and this really starts to annoy other drivers. Not only is this not fair on the drivers but it isn’t fair on the older people who get abused for it by the other people in their cars.
Another issue is that with banning old people from driving you are going to see a lot less bad credit car leasing and this isn’t a great thing because it will shut down a lot of businesses. This will increase the safety ofthe roads.
Cheap Lease Cars and general Audi Leasing is most likely the best option to take for an elderly person, do you think it is best for them not to drive, I think we should give them a chance.
Car Allowance Rebate System (CARS)
The Cash for Clunkers Bill or as it is known by its official name the Car Allowance Rebate System and for short (CARS) is a $ 1 billion government program that helps the consumer buy or lease a more environmentally – friendly vehicle from a participating dealer when they trade in a less fuel efficient car or truck. The program is designed to energize the economy be boosting auto sales and to put safer, cleaner and more fuel-efficient vehicles on the road.
The public will be able to take advantage of this program and receive a $3,500 or $4,500 discount from the car dealer when they trade in their old gas hog and purchase or lease a new more fuel-efficient one.
The U.S. Department of Transportation’s National Highway Traffic and Safety Administration have released the final eligibility requirements for the Car Allowance Rebate System (CARS).
Consumers will have the option to participate in the CARS Program between August 1, 2009 and Novmber 1, 2009 or until the funds run out.
· Qualified consumers will receive the $3,500 or $4,500 credit at the time they purchase their new vehicle.
· Dealers must provide consumers with any other advertised rebates or discounts in addition to the credit they receive through the CARS Program.
· The CARS Program will only be available at the local dealership and not on the internet.
· The dealership will be required to supply the buyer with the best estimate of the scrap value for their eligible trade-in vehicle. Dealers will be allowed to deduct $50 from this value for their administrative costs.
· Social Security numbers are not required for a CARS Program transaction
How the CARS Program Works:
Owners of cars getting no more than 18mpg are permitted for a $3,500 voucher toward the purchase of a new car getting at least 22mpg. If the new car gets 10mpg or better mileage than the trade-in clunker, then the owner will receive a $4,500 discount. That’s for cars.
Light-trucks, Minivans, SUV’s and Pickups getting 18 MPG or less will qualify for $3,500 credit toward the new fuel-efficient vehicle.
All trade-in clunkers must be crushed and shredded by the dealer. Eligible trade-ins must be 1984 models or later. Many cars that qualify as Antiques – 25 years or older – may be lost in the crushed and shredded part of the CARS Program.

The Government is Giving You a Gift, A New Electric Car
For years folk have been driving gas eating machines which have been affecting the environment and breaking down the ozone section. People for such a long time have been paying way to much for fuel, this is a factor as to why the economy has dropped so much.
But this problem could shortly be rectified as the government have recently announced that they may be offering motorists in Britain £2,000 to buy an electric car for themselves. The main benefits of this would be as follows:
1) It would help the environment a massive amount, especially with the commuters in big cities. Commuters to tend to drive around a lot, currently they are emitting a lot of pollution into the world, especially by being stuck in traffic jams.
2) It would save people the cost of petrol.
3) Every household could potentially be able to buy new cars.
I do think that it is a suitable time for the government to start giving back to the public that have been paying their fuel and taxes for years without nothing in return. The government also have to do something to save the environment because electric vehicles currently make up only a tiny section of the cars being sold in Britain. According to industry figures, only 179 electric cars were registered in the UK last year out of a total of 2.12 million.
One of the main factors as to why people are not buying electric cars is simply because there are not enough charge points throughout the country.
