How I Made Some Cash this Summer
The time has come to return to University for another year of boring lectures and drinking too much.
At least this year I’ve managed to save some useful cash after working like a dog all summer. I’d started the summer really jealous of my mates who were planning to go travelling in Europe. But at least I’ve got a bank account that’s in the black, unlike the way it started the summer.
I started the summer with a cleaning job working in various Heathrow hotels. The work was really hard with a slave driving boss and really early morning starts. I have a lot of respect for the hard working people I met who do this work all year round.
But what I really wanted was a driving job as I’d passed my driving test during the previous academic year. So when a friend told me of an opportunity at Stansted airport I jumped at it. I became a valet, parking and retrieving cars for people in the maze of Stansted airport parking lots. I loved this work as I got to drive all sorts of great cars. From fancy modern hybrids to some great sports cars and many people were really generous with their tips.
It was while working there that I met a guy who was so impressed with my driving that he asked if I’d like to work for his car leasing firm. The pay on offer was considerably more than I was getting as a car parking valet and there was a bonus as well. So after only two weeks working as a valet I was off to yet another job. This time delivering cheap lease cars to customers throughout the south east.
I really loved this work and my boss has told me that there will be a job there for me at Christmas and Easter if I am up for it. In fact I enjoyed working for his firm so much I may consider working for him when I finish my degree next year. For me this was definitely a summer well spent.
Should I Lease A New Car or Buy Brand New
Having just started a new job I feel that the time is right for me to be looking into buying a new car. To be honest I have owned my Fiat Punto for over 6 years now, and although she has done me well, she is looking a bit battered and bruised.
My biggest predicament is which car should I think about investing in?
There are a lot of cars on the market now and my concern is if I make the wrong choice, I could be stuck with a car for the next 6 or 7 years.
Somebody I know recommended leasing a car for a few years. My first thought was it would be too costly to pay out each month on a lease, when I could simply buy one outright.
I made the decision to carry out some research to obtain facts and figures and see what sort of deals were around for Cheap Lease Cars.
I was very surprised by the competitive deals around, but still undecided about which car to choose.
My very first car was a Vauxhall Nova, so I thought that probably looking into Vauxhall Contract Hire could be a good place to start.
Vauxhall has some great models available, though I will admit to thinking about leasing a car that was a bit more in tune with my new company status.
My partner bought a Toyota Avensis and he is very happy with this model. He has found his car to be very dependable with no problems. With this in mind I decided to carry out a search into Toyota Contract Hire and I was more than impressed with the Toyota Landcruiser. The Landcruiser seems like a tremendous motor, big enough for the family, lots of room for the weekly shopping and it will certainly look great in the car park.
I am confident that the Landcruiser will suit me very well over the next 3 years. What is brilliant is that at the end of the 3 year lease, I can buy the car.
