New York Cleans up Cars From the Street

As we have witnessed the government have taken pollution very seriously, and they have already started the clamp down on cars. We all realise that vehicles are one of the worst pollution emitting machines of all and this is why governments around the world are pushing forward with scrappage schemes. This is to get the old polluting cars off of the road and replace them with more suitable ones.

But the USA have gone a bit further and stopped any cars from the streets of Times Square, the move is set to last a whole year as authorities look to cut pollution and make big cities a much nicer place to live. As well as that I also feel that another benefit that will come from this all will be that people will become a huge amount healthier. The whole world is suffering with obesity more and more and its all due down to people not exercising enough. But with effectively eliminating the use of vehicles people will begin walking a lot more and not breathing in unhealthy car fumes.

So should car really not be allowed in busy destinations? Well as we have already seen there is a huge amount of beneficial factors, but for some people there may be a lot of negative ones, an example of this is delivery drivers and cabs, how will shops get their deliveries on time if no one is allowed to access or park out side the shops? And could cab drivers lose a lot of customers simply by not being able to pick them up?

Whichever way you look at the scenario, there is bound to be a huge number of good and bad aspects.
