I don’t know what you mean by the driving was next to me. I assume you mean the instructor was sitting next to you. Either way it should be included in the papers your parents signed to allow you to go to driving school, what should happen in such case. Most if not all driving schools are required to have excellent Car insurance by law. Some pay for the accident themselves and other just require you (or the parents most likely) to pay the deductible, which is always around $500. It may be less or it may be more but never more than $1,000. The most common deductible is $500. A deductible is when the insurance pays for the damages to your car, to get it out of the mechanic shop ( after it is all fix up) you pay the deductible which is around $500 or if it is a real great insurance coverage then $250. they will not give the owner the car until the deductible is paid. Which in this case may be you but check and make sure maybe you don’t have to pay anything and it was included in the fee you paid for driving classes.
