One of the current trends going on with buying a used car is their maintenance records.A lot of people are now interested in seeing if a car has all of it’s maintenance records. Because you can be pretty sure that somebody who took care of their car, will have a car that will last longer. So if you have a vehicle you own it will be critical to keep a record of all maintenance.Because a lot of buyers will want to take a look at that.

So some things you can do is every time you go in to get service for your car keep a receipt of it.  In my San Diego auto repair business I make sure to give all my clients a receipt of the work that was done.  Make sure whichever company you take your car into does the same.This could be the deciding factor in whether or not you get the price you wanted or have to get something less.

Also, when you have your car taken in for a tune up, don’t forget to keep a record of it.  Getting regular tune ups help keep your car running longer and smoother.It is also beneficial in making your car pass any sort of smog test a lot easier.  In my San Dieg smog check center I notice cars that weren’t tuned up regularly are the ones that fail the test.

Finally you want to keep good records of when you take your car in for brake maintenance.This is a big part of caring for your vehicle and its maintenance.It one thing that a prospective buyer will want to look at.  Because the last thing a new buyer wants is a big expensive brake service they need.  So in my San Diego brake shop I make sure to give a thorough report to all my clients.

Now hopefully you can see the value in maintaining your car is you want to sell it for a lot of money.Most buyers now want the car they are buying to be maintained.  By keeping records you can prove that you have been taking care of it.
