Audi R8 is Chosen by Microsoft for Forza 3 Cover Car
During the Microsoft 2009 E3 conference, they announced that they will be teaming up with Audi for the development of the Forza 3 game. The upcoming 2010 Audi R8 will be the cover car for the game aswell as an in-game car. The developers at Turn 10 have been working with Audi to create an exact match of the real R8.
Turn 10 game director, Dan Greenawalt, said that the Audi R8 is “powerful but refined, sophisticated yet inviting, the perfect blend of design and performance”, he said that because the Audi R8 is like this, it would make the perfect partner for the game because that’s the way they approached the creation of this game.
To help promote the new racing game, Microsoft and Audi are going to run the AXF-24 Audi-Forza Challenge. This challenge will take the top 9 Forza players from North America and put them in a 24 hour Forza 3 race. The 9 gamers will be split into 3 groups of 3, the group that comes out on top will win a trip to the 2010 Le Mans race.
The event begins in New York at the Audi Forum on June 13th. As for the game, it’s due for release in October 2009.
